15 Weeks

How far along? 15 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: -5.5lbs (slowly starting to gain it back!)
Maternity clothes? My lovely friend Lauren has lent me a lot of her summer/fall maternity clothes that I needed terribly. I think my leggings are going to give out soon if I continue to wear them on a daily basis. I have the dilemma of not wanting to buy anything "summery" that I will only be able to wear for another month and the fact that none of my "regular" bottoms fit any longer.
Stretch marks? None
Sleep: Finding a comfortable position is getting more difficult. I've started putting a pillow between my legs which helps until I want to turn over and then it's near impossible to get the pillow to the other side, under the covers... #pregnancyproblems!
Best moment this week: Seeing my best friend graduate with her DPT from UK! YAY!
Miss Anything? I really wanted some sushi at lunch the other day. Everyone else was enjoying it but me. (cue pity party)
Movement: Okay, so, I've been having these weird feelings. And I cannot describe them. But I'll try anyways... It's like pressure, like i'm going to have a twitch that doesn't ever come. I've been telling myself there is no way I would feel movement yet, as to not get my hopes up. But the more and more it happens, it's hard to deny. My mommy-friends seem to think it really is the baby =)
Symptoms: I'm finally feeling like myself again except these damn headaches! Also, my hair and nails are growing so fast! I can't keep up!
Food cravings: Food all together has started to sound good. I've noticed when someone asks if I want something, instead of my automatic response of "no", I actually do want something! yay!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Not really. Although, I couldn't eat the taco meat last night...
Have you started to show yet: Several friends this weekend commented on my baby bump, it's there!
Gender prediction: Feeling girl again! I fully reserve the right to change my mind again next week, and probably will. (4.5 weeks til D day)
Labor Signs: No

Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy when I don't have a headache! Chad will tell you I have my moody moments but overall they are few and short lived.
Looking forward to this week: Celebrating the wedding of the year this weekend! My best friend is FINALLY getting married! I cannot wait!

Summer 2013

I apologize in advance for such a long post! Go grab a drink, you're in for the long hall. 

Since I've been busy blogging about the pregnancy I haven't really taken time to share all the fun things we did this summer. I cannot believe it's almost over but I am looking forward to fall and all it has to offer (football, awesome weather, campfires..etc)

We kicked off this summer celebrating the wedding of one of our good friends from college, Josh. He met a great girl from Maine and they had a beautiful weeding up there. (fun fact: we found out we were pregnant while in Maine!)

I took a long weekend off work and we made our way to the great state of Maine. The wedding festivities were so much fun and we are so happy we were able to share their special day. (For those of you wondering, and I know you all are, yes I saw a moose... see photo below)

After we returned home from Maine, I got pretty bad morning sickness but I mustered up all the energy I could so we could go out to eat on our 2nd wedding anniversary!

I look absolutely terrible so we will keep this picture small....

Because I was so sick and we didn't really feel the need to get each other gifts this year, we both went with sweets instead. I got Chad a cheesecake (his favorite) from a local bakery and he got me a cupcake and dessert bar from another local bakery. Unfortunately for me, I didn't get to eat any of it! I also didn't take pictures of any of it, you'll have to use your imagination.

In the beginning of July we were off on a much needed vacation. We took a trip to South Carolina with my parents and my sister and her two kids. Thankfully, I was starting to feel slightly better and was able to enjoy myself. 

We did a lot of laying on the beach (my favorite) and eating (also my favorite!). 

We did a mini photo shoot on the beach, with my new camera, and got some great new family shots. 

We even took a day trip to Savannah one day while it was gloomy and raining. 

On ward with our busy summer... 

When we got back from vacation I threw my best friend a bridal shower. It was so much fun and everything turned out great. 

She got a lot of great gifts and even had 2 surprise out of town guests that she was super excited to see. We got a rare photo of all the bridesmaids in one place (such a cute group!)

We had yummy mimosa bar (that I was unable to take part in, boo) and a delish dessert table. 

Soon after that it was time for her Bachelorette party! We spent the day at the pool with gifts and cake and then hit the town for dinner and drinks afterward. 

Overall, it has been a jam packed but extremely fun summer and it's not quite over yet! Hopefully I will be better about posting updates as they happen to avoid such long blog dumps! Stay tuned...

Nursery Brainstorming

I took the tape measure upstairs and began to layout the baby's room. It's an extremely odd shape so I wanted a scale drawing to see how furniture would fit (or not fit). Based on the layout of the room, I think this is what we are going to go with as far as a furniture layout. 

Obviously, there will be other things in the room but I wanted to get an idea of how the big furniture would fit and I'm pretty happy with the outcome. 

We are going to stick with a neutral grey color for the walls and go with accents of pink or blue on the curtains and wall decor. We are going to wait, obviously, until we find out the gender before decorating but I have some simple inspiration pictures that I like a lot.

We found a great deal on a dresser on Craigslist that can double as a changing table. Chad did an AHHmazing job at refinishing it (I'll post that DIY refinish soon!). We are going to go with white furniture and a grey glidder/ottoman.

I'm so excited to start picking out things for the nursery!! =)

14 week update!

How far along? 14 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: -6lbs 
Maternity clothes? Leggings are my friend!

Sleep: Sleeping well! No more day time naps. 
Best moment this week: Today I officially got over my cold! 
Miss Anything? A day without a headache, what's that like again?
Movement: None yet, can't wait though! 
Symptoms: Still headaches and this week I came down with a cold. Thank goodness it didn't last long. It is NO fun being sick and pregnant. All the good drugs are off limits.... 
Food cravings: Sweets started sounding good again. Ice cream, chocolate covered pomegranates, plums, peaches, oh my! 
Anything making you queasy or sick: meat...
Have you started to show yet: Definatley STARTING to look pregnant when I wear tighter shirts. Still hides easily in baggy clothes like my scrubs. 
Gender prediction: ???? We scheduled our 20 week ultrasound! eek, I cannot wait! 5.5 weeks and counting! 
Labor Signs: No

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy when I don't have a headache or a cold!
Looking forward to: I'm still going to say gaining some weight, feeling movement and finding out the gender!

13 weeks - Second Trimester!!

How far along? 13 weeks. Yay we made it to the second trimester!
Total weight gain/loss: -6lbs 
Maternity clothes? Although not completely necessary yet, the shirt I have on in this picture is a maternity shirt from Old Navy. The leggings are just normal leggings. But all my pants/shorts are uncomfortable so loose fitting things and dresses are a must 
Stretch marks? None but my skin is SO dry!! 
Sleep: Getting less and less sleepy everyday, yay for more energy! 
Best moment this week: Spending time with old friends that we don't get to see often and meeting new ones! 
Miss Anything? Not this week =) 
Movement: None yet, can't wait though! 
Symptoms: Still headaches and occasionally lightheaded 
Food cravings: Chicken nuggets! 
Anything making you queasy or sick: Still meat (minus chicken nuggets, obviously)! 
Have you started to show yet: I have a full time bump now, although its still really tiny 
Gender prediction: Lately I've been really feeling boy but I think that's because EVERYONE recently has been telling me they think it's a boy. (about 7 weeks until we find out, not that I'm counting!) 
Labor Signs: No

Wedding rings on or off? On 
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy! 
Looking forward to: I'm still going to say gaining some weight, feeling movement and finding out the gender!

12 weeks!

How far along? 12 weeks 
Total weight gain/loss: Lost 2 more lbs :(  -6lbs
Maternity clothes? All my pants with buttons are uncomfortable. I have been wearing my leggings, dresses and elastic shorts/pants. I did buy some maternity leggings and 2 maternity shirts but I can't fit into them yet. 
Stretch marks? Nope! Really dry skin though! 
Sleep: Still get pretty tired in the afternoons and early evening. 
Best moment this week: Seeing the little peanut again at our 12 week ultrasound! eek! 
Miss Anything? Sushi and surprisingly lunch meat. 
Movement: None yet, can't wait though! 
Symptoms: Headaches are my main battle at the moment, trying to avoid the Tylenol as long as possible. 
Food cravings: Donuts! Yum! 
Anything making you queasy or sick: Still meat! 
Have you started to show yet: I think that my bump is finally starting to stick around all day, not just at night, but its still really tiny :) 
Gender prediction: Everyday I go back and forth. Women who wait to find out the gender are nuts! It's driving me crazy to have to wait 2 more months!!! 
Labor Signs: No

Happy or Moody most of the time: The past couple days I've been pretty grumpy in the mornings but I recover and am pretty happy once lunch time hits! 
Looking forward to: GAINING SOME WEIGHT!! (I never thought I'd say that!)

12 week ultrasound

We got to see the little nugget again at our 12 week ultrasound. He/she was moving like CRAZY! It was kicking and sucking its thumb, wiggling and moving its arms around! It was sooo awesome! Can't wait to feel some movement and find out if its a little girl or boy! =)
