Toddler Tales

Kaylee is a ball of energy! She is a monkey, loves to climb on everything, including mom and dad! She is so sweet and so rotten at the same time. Her faces and expressions crack us up. And the amount that she is able to comprehend amazes us daily! She is such a smart, smart girl!

Stats}
Height: ???

Weight: ???

Teeth: 6 Teeth: two bottoms, four top

Clothes: She fits in most 12-18 month clothes. Most of the 12 month stuff we have would still fit, but is winter gear. The summer stuff we have is 18 month and this fits her as well.

{Signature Moves}
Kaylee still loves to put things on and off, whether it is her shoes, socks, bib...etc She brings us our shoes and socks and tells us to put them on, then take them off, repeat x infinity, it's a fun game! She is a running, climbing, dancing, waving, clapping, singing, non-stop tornado! It is exhausting and so much fun all at the same time!

{Favorite words}
Kaylee is a talking machine. She has too many words to count at this point. Of which, her favorites are "on" "off" "ou-side" "uppie" (pick me up) "helpme" "Peeees" (please) "yes", "no" & "nomnomnom" (I want food now!). We have been "teaching" her 1,2,3 and a,b,c. She's got 1 down and will even hold up 1 finger. After that it's mostly noises we aren't quiet sure are the subsequent numbers or not, then she clamps and says "yay!" after 3! A,B,C are a little harder and mostly she just clamps at the end!

{Favorite Foods}
Still miss picky! She eats a lot of apple sauce, fruit bars, yogurt, grapes, oranges, hot dogs, peanut butter, mac&cheese, cheeses of all kinds (fav food for sure!) cherrios, pancakes and spaghetti. We have been trying to get her to eat different things, but she is so stubborn! I think we will try to reintroduce milk and eggs here soon and hopefully it goes better than the last times we have tried! Fingers crossed! We are also going to start working on her spoon/fork usage.

{Favorite Activities}
Sitting in her chair (for a total of 20 seconds), climbing (on the couch, the ottoman, on mom, on dad, on ANYTHING!), telling us "no" and then laughing, playing outside, running, running & running. Did I mention she is a ball of energy!?

{Least favorite Activites}
Getting better every day, but still not her favorite is the carseat. In the past couple months, she has mastered the toddler temper tamtrum... yes already! She knows what she wants and when she doesn't get it, melt down!! Luckily, knock of wood, they are short lived and she recovers quickly.

{Best parent award}
I can't think of any great stories lately. She mostly gets into all her predicaments herself these days. Like climbing on her chair, to the ottoman to the window sill to look out at the birds "tweet, tweet!" she says! Crazy girl!

{Stories from the sitter}
Since summer started Kaylee has been home with dad. She misses her friends at the sitter and asks for them, which is adorable. We have her "class picture" on the fridge and she will point to a couple people and say their names! So cute! I told her one night that when she woke up in the morning she got to go see them. She immediately laid down on the floor and pretended to sleep!! Chad and I just looked at each other amazed.... so adorable and smart!

{Misc}
Summer has been so fun. She is playing outside a lot, in her water table and baby pool. Loves to be outside, running around, swinging or just eating dirt! {best parent award}

She is at the age where she is able to understand what we are saying. We can tell her to go do something and she goes and does it. It is amazing to watch her grow. She amazes us with just how smart she is and what she can do! I'll say it again, favorite age!

Recap Spring

This spring has really gotten away from me. It has been about 3 months since my last update! So much to catch up on. We have been extremely busy and the summer is going to be even busier. So, I want to get a head on blogging again before I'm too far behind. I would love to do weekly posts this summer, since it seems every weekend we are going somewhere or doing something fun! We will see how on top of it we can be!

Okay, let's catch up!

We spent Easter with Chad's family. It was a really nice day, we were able to go outside and run around. Kaylee loves to be outside! The Easter Bunny brought Kaylee a water table to play with, which, is so much fun! She loves to splash around in it! Also, in her basket, were books, Tangled, bubbles & new socks! She has yet to watch the movie, since she can't sit still for even 5 seconds, but she LOVES bubbles. She asks for them on a daily basis, and then wants to blow them herself. Which is one of the cutest and messiest things I've seen!

We took Kaylee for her first Easter Egg Hunt. It was adorable! We were skeptical that she would be able to do it. So, we practiced at home first, spreading out eggs and teaching her to pick them up and put them in the basket. She immediately picked up (no pun intended) on it. She was running around the house picking all the eggs up, then dumping them back out to pick them up again. So, when we got to the Egg Hunt she was a pro! We went around and picked up some eggs, ate some cookies and candy! It was a chilly, but very fun day. I just love that she is getting old enough to be able to participate in things like that. I've said it before and I'll say it again, this is my favorite age.

I went to see Lion King with my sister, mom and niece in April. It was awesome! So much fun to have a little girls day out. We had lunch then went to the show. I recommend it highly! The music and costume designs are just unbelievable. Something everyone should witness at least once!

We have welcomed the warm weather with open arms! It is so nice, with a baby, to be able to go out of the house without a million layers on!

We bought zoo passes this year and have been a handful of times so far. Kaylee loves elephants and she is proficient at her animal noises. She also loves the manatee house. The wagon was a new purchase and I'm going to have strong arms pulling it around the parks this summer!

When the weather is just right, we have been taking walks around the neighborhood. Kaylee loves to look at the ducks in the neighborhood pond. She loves to be outside no matter what. She stands at our back door saying "ou-side, ou-side!" Loves to run in the backyard, play in her new baby pool and water table and on the swing set. The hardest part is keeping up with the sunblock on her little bald head!

Well, I think that about covers the recap of our spring! It is going to be an adventurous summer and I know it will just fly by!
