Toddler Tales

Kaylee is a ball of energy! She is a monkey, loves to climb on everything, including mom and dad! She is so sweet and so rotten at the same time. Her faces and expressions crack us up. And the amount that she is able to comprehend amazes us daily! She is such a smart, smart girl!

Stats}
Height: ???

Weight: ???

Teeth: 6 Teeth: two bottoms, four top

Clothes: She fits in most 12-18 month clothes. Most of the 12 month stuff we have would still fit, but is winter gear. The summer stuff we have is 18 month and this fits her as well.

{Signature Moves}
Kaylee still loves to put things on and off, whether it is her shoes, socks, bib...etc She brings us our shoes and socks and tells us to put them on, then take them off, repeat x infinity, it's a fun game! She is a running, climbing, dancing, waving, clapping, singing, non-stop tornado! It is exhausting and so much fun all at the same time!

{Favorite words}
Kaylee is a talking machine. She has too many words to count at this point. Of which, her favorites are "on" "off" "ou-side" "uppie" (pick me up) "helpme" "Peeees" (please) "yes", "no" & "nomnomnom" (I want food now!). We have been "teaching" her 1,2,3 and a,b,c. She's got 1 down and will even hold up 1 finger. After that it's mostly noises we aren't quiet sure are the subsequent numbers or not, then she clamps and says "yay!" after 3! A,B,C are a little harder and mostly she just clamps at the end!

{Favorite Foods}
Still miss picky! She eats a lot of apple sauce, fruit bars, yogurt, grapes, oranges, hot dogs, peanut butter, mac&cheese, cheeses of all kinds (fav food for sure!) cherrios, pancakes and spaghetti. We have been trying to get her to eat different things, but she is so stubborn! I think we will try to reintroduce milk and eggs here soon and hopefully it goes better than the last times we have tried! Fingers crossed! We are also going to start working on her spoon/fork usage.

{Favorite Activities}
Sitting in her chair (for a total of 20 seconds), climbing (on the couch, the ottoman, on mom, on dad, on ANYTHING!), telling us "no" and then laughing, playing outside, running, running & running. Did I mention she is a ball of energy!?

{Least favorite Activites}
Getting better every day, but still not her favorite is the carseat. In the past couple months, she has mastered the toddler temper tamtrum... yes already! She knows what she wants and when she doesn't get it, melt down!! Luckily, knock of wood, they are short lived and she recovers quickly.

{Best parent award}
I can't think of any great stories lately. She mostly gets into all her predicaments herself these days. Like climbing on her chair, to the ottoman to the window sill to look out at the birds "tweet, tweet!" she says! Crazy girl!

{Stories from the sitter}
Since summer started Kaylee has been home with dad. She misses her friends at the sitter and asks for them, which is adorable. We have her "class picture" on the fridge and she will point to a couple people and say their names! So cute! I told her one night that when she woke up in the morning she got to go see them. She immediately laid down on the floor and pretended to sleep!! Chad and I just looked at each other amazed.... so adorable and smart!

{Misc}
Summer has been so fun. She is playing outside a lot, in her water table and baby pool. Loves to be outside, running around, swinging or just eating dirt! {best parent award}

She is at the age where she is able to understand what we are saying. We can tell her to go do something and she goes and does it. It is amazing to watch her grow. She amazes us with just how smart she is and what she can do! I'll say it again, favorite age!

Recap Spring

This spring has really gotten away from me. It has been about 3 months since my last update! So much to catch up on. We have been extremely busy and the summer is going to be even busier. So, I want to get a head on blogging again before I'm too far behind. I would love to do weekly posts this summer, since it seems every weekend we are going somewhere or doing something fun! We will see how on top of it we can be!

Okay, let's catch up!

We spent Easter with Chad's family. It was a really nice day, we were able to go outside and run around. Kaylee loves to be outside! The Easter Bunny brought Kaylee a water table to play with, which, is so much fun! She loves to splash around in it! Also, in her basket, were books, Tangled, bubbles & new socks! She has yet to watch the movie, since she can't sit still for even 5 seconds, but she LOVES bubbles. She asks for them on a daily basis, and then wants to blow them herself. Which is one of the cutest and messiest things I've seen!

We took Kaylee for her first Easter Egg Hunt. It was adorable! We were skeptical that she would be able to do it. So, we practiced at home first, spreading out eggs and teaching her to pick them up and put them in the basket. She immediately picked up (no pun intended) on it. She was running around the house picking all the eggs up, then dumping them back out to pick them up again. So, when we got to the Egg Hunt she was a pro! We went around and picked up some eggs, ate some cookies and candy! It was a chilly, but very fun day. I just love that she is getting old enough to be able to participate in things like that. I've said it before and I'll say it again, this is my favorite age.

I went to see Lion King with my sister, mom and niece in April. It was awesome! So much fun to have a little girls day out. We had lunch then went to the show. I recommend it highly! The music and costume designs are just unbelievable. Something everyone should witness at least once!

We have welcomed the warm weather with open arms! It is so nice, with a baby, to be able to go out of the house without a million layers on!

We bought zoo passes this year and have been a handful of times so far. Kaylee loves elephants and she is proficient at her animal noises. She also loves the manatee house. The wagon was a new purchase and I'm going to have strong arms pulling it around the parks this summer!

When the weather is just right, we have been taking walks around the neighborhood. Kaylee loves to look at the ducks in the neighborhood pond. She loves to be outside no matter what. She stands at our back door saying "ou-side, ou-side!" Loves to run in the backyard, play in her new baby pool and water table and on the swing set. The hardest part is keeping up with the sunblock on her little bald head!

Well, I think that about covers the recap of our spring! It is going to be an adventurous summer and I know it will just fly by!

Happy Birthday Kaylee

We celebrated Kaylee's first birthday last month and she had a super fun party to celebrate. Lots of friends and family came over.

 Highlights: ripping the wrapping paper, smashing her cake & playing with her friends.

She got lots of new, fun toys and adorable clothes!

She had so much fun seeing and playing with all her family and friends!

I still cannot believe that my baby is 1 year old! I don't know where the past year has gone but it truly flew by! I hear that the years just keep going faster! I'm just trying to enjoy every moment while it happens!

Kaylee {12/13 Month Update}

::12/13 Month Update::

I think I have to stop titling these blog posts "Baby Kaylee" since my tiny baby is 1 YEAR OLD!!! This year truly flew by. It was the most exciting, exhausting, best, fun, crazy year of our lives. We are so blessed to have this amazing little girl in our lives. As much as she learns everyday from us, we learn from her. She has taught us so much about life and love. The paradox of having a baby is that time flies by yet you can't remember life before them!

Technically Kaylee is 13 months now, since I'm super late with this post but at this point I'll probably only do updates 2-3 times a year. So I'm going to change up the format a bit.

{Stats}
Height: 28.5 inches (24th %)

Weight: 19lbs 3 oz (16th %)

Teeth: 4 (doc said 2 more coming in soon!)

Clothes: She's pretty true to size, fitting in mostly 12 month sizes.

{Signature Moves}
Kaylee started walking a couple weeks after her birthday and she is quickly starting to run anywhere and everywhere. She LOVES to walk, LOVES to be on the move! She also loves, blowing kisses, dancing and singing (mostly to "Let it go"), "putting on" her shoes/socks, brushing her hair, talking on the phone, & telling us "no".

{Favorite words}
Kaylee has LOTS of new words. She will attempt to say anything you ask her to (or at least think about it). Her favorites include: Apple (Aah-pull), Bubbles (Buh-Buh), More (Mo), Go (while singing "let it go"), No (Nuh), Jenna (Ne-Na), Hi, Hello (Oh), Book (Buh), Tada (Duh-Duh), Mama & Dada

{Favorite Foods}
Lately she has been miss picky. Favorites depend on her mood that day but she eats: hot dogs, cheese, crackers, baby food, bananas, gold fish, puffs, crunchies, yogurt & nutri-grain bars (for babies).

{Favorite Activities}
Reading Books (loves to flip the pages, especially peek-a-boo books), pushing around her ball popper or walker, playing tea (which consists of getting on and off the chair 1000 times and throwing the tea cups), peek-a-boo, being chased, going up the stairs (haven't mastered down yet), climbing on anything and everything & being tickled!

{Least favorite Activites}
Athough she is not as bad as in the past, she doesn't enjoy being in the carseat. Notable mentions include: having her clothes & diaper changed!

{Best parent award}
The time dad turned around for 5 seconds to look at the TV and she poured a full glass of ice water down onto herself.

That time I was trying to clean her up because she was covered in cake from head to toe at her bday party. I checked the diaper for poop first and it was clean, so I stripped her naked in front of all her family and friends. Little did I know poop was plastered to her butt!

{Stories from the sitter}
I love the stories our (awesome) sitter tells me on an almost daily basis about the shenanigans my daughter gets into so I thought this would be a fun/cute section. Lately this includes: falling/jumping off the highchair in record time while she turned around for 2 seconds (no injuries), and sticking both hands in the (clean) toilet!

{Misc}
We started using Baby signs and Kaylee has gotten one down so far - "More". Since starting to use it she also started to say more. I think I will try to teach her a couple more since this one seemed to work so well =)

This truly is the age of imitation. I am just amazed at not only what she can do but what she understands. I swear when I talk to her, she knows/understands what I'm saying! All in all it is a super fun (if not exhausting) age! We cannot wait for warm weather so she can run around outside!

Snow fun with dad

We are VERY ready for Sping time! Hopefully it is right around the corner but until then: Kaylee got to "play" in the snow for the first time with dad.

She didn't LOVE it, mostly just stared at it and didn't want to be put down. I'm pretty sure this is just her age and she will probably love the snow next year.

Although, maybe she will be like me and dream of beaches all winter long! =)

I'm ready for the snow to melt and to be able to run around outside in the sun with no snow gear on!!

Baby Kaylee {11 Months}

I can't believe that I have done 11 monthly updates and next month my little baby will be a year old. She has such a personality and is so much fun to watch grow. I know I say this a lot but THIS is my favorite age so far. =)

::11 Month Favorites::

Mickey Mouse - This girl cannot get enough of Mickey Mouse. It is the cutest thing I have ever seen to watch her dance and "sing" the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse song and the Hot Dog Song. She gets so excited when she sees it come on!

Dancing -This girl LOVES music! Any time we put music on she goes crazy. Wiggles, dances and claps her heart out! It is absolutely my favorite thing! We have nightly dance parties! She is our little dance machine!

::Stats::
No official weight since our scale is broken but I'm going to take an educated guess and say around 18.5 lbs.

::Milestones::
{Words}
Kaylee says all kinds of things now a days but her favorites are: mama, baba, dada and gaga.
{Stands with no support}
Kaylee started standing with no support about mid December. She started with just a couple of seconds and now can pretty much stand unsupported until she decides to sit or reach.

::Sleeping::
{Night}
 Still a great sleeper (I NEVER THOUGHT WE WOULD GET HERE!). Bedtime 6:30 and wakes up around 7-7:30

{Naps}
Still taking 3 naps. Short morning nap around 9:30 and a longer afternoon nap around 1:00. Then she usually needs a tiny cat nap in the evenings still depending on how long her second nap lasted.

::Eating::
We weaned off breastfeeding this month. She was down to once a day and then at the very end of the month decided she was done for good. She gets formula throughout the day and the rest is food! Favorite food: Macaroni and Cheese! Also, loves apple sauce!

::Misc::
{Christmas}
Christmas really is just that much better with a kid! We had so much fun! She loved to rip the paper and eat it! Kaylee got a car seat, a bunch of books, clothes and toys! Her favorites are: Musical Car, Singing Chair and Violet the dog (who knows Kaylee's name and sings songs with her!)

{Teeth}
Two teeth popped through this month relatively unnoticed. Hopefully all her teeth will come in no problems!
{Funny faces}
Kaylee started making all kinds of new facial expressions this month! My all time favorite is her scrunched up nose and puckered mouth

She is our sweet, loving, funny little girl. She has really grown into a toddler this past month and seems so much older! We love her little personality and she has a BIG one! I think we may have our hands full when she hits the terrible twos (or threes!)!
