::12/13 Month Update::
I think I have to stop titling these blog posts "Baby Kaylee" since my tiny baby is 1 YEAR OLD!!! This year truly flew by. It was the most exciting, exhausting, best, fun, crazy year of our lives. We are so blessed to have this amazing little girl in our lives. As much as she learns everyday from us, we learn from her. She has taught us so much about life and love. The paradox of having a baby is that time flies by yet you can't remember life before them!
Technically Kaylee is 13 months now, since I'm super late with this post but at this point I'll probably only do updates 2-3 times a year. So I'm going to change up the format a bit.
{Stats}
Height: 28.5 inches (24th %)
Weight: 19lbs 3 oz (16th %)
Teeth: 4 (doc said 2 more coming in soon!)
Clothes: She's pretty true to size, fitting in mostly 12 month sizes.
Kaylee started walking a couple weeks after her birthday and she is quickly starting to run anywhere and everywhere. She LOVES to walk, LOVES to be on the move! She also loves, blowing kisses, dancing and singing (mostly to "Let it go"), "putting on" her shoes/socks, brushing her hair, talking on the phone, & telling us "no".
{Favorite words}
Kaylee has LOTS of new words. She will attempt to say anything you ask her to (or at least think about it). Her favorites include: Apple (Aah-pull), Bubbles (Buh-Buh), More (Mo), Go (while singing "let it go"), No (Nuh), Jenna (Ne-Na), Hi, Hello (Oh), Book (Buh), Tada (Duh-Duh), Mama & Dada
Lately she has been miss picky. Favorites depend on her mood that day but she eats: hot dogs, cheese, crackers, baby food, bananas, gold fish, puffs, crunchies, yogurt & nutri-grain bars (for babies).
{Favorite Activities}
Reading Books (loves to flip the pages, especially peek-a-boo books), pushing around her ball popper or walker, playing tea (which consists of getting on and off the chair 1000 times and throwing the tea cups), peek-a-boo, being chased, going up the stairs (haven't mastered down yet), climbing on anything and everything & being tickled!
{Least favorite Activites}
Athough she is not as bad as in the past, she doesn't enjoy being in the carseat. Notable mentions include: having her clothes & diaper changed!
{Best parent award}
The time dad turned around for 5 seconds to look at the TV and she poured a full glass of ice water down onto herself.
That time I was trying to clean her up because she was covered in cake from head to toe at her bday party. I checked the diaper for poop first and it was clean, so I stripped her naked in front of all her family and friends. Little did I know poop was plastered to her butt!
{Stories from the sitter}
I love the stories our (awesome) sitter tells me on an almost daily basis about the shenanigans my daughter gets into so I thought this would be a fun/cute section. Lately this includes: falling/jumping off the highchair in record time while she turned around for 2 seconds (no injuries), and sticking both hands in the (clean) toilet!
We started using Baby signs and Kaylee has gotten one down so far - "More". Since starting to use it she also started to say more. I think I will try to teach her a couple more since this one seemed to work so well =)
This truly is the age of imitation. I am just amazed at not only what she can do but what she understands. I swear when I talk to her, she knows/understands what I'm saying! All in all it is a super fun (if not exhausting) age! We cannot wait for warm weather so she can run around outside!
